How often do you think about fly feet?

Yesterday I was trying to photograph bumble bees but every photo was fuzzy. Not bee fuzzy but blurry fuzzy. I got discouraged and began to shoot pictures of moths and beetles and whatever happened by.

Later, when I reviewed the images, I found this fly portrait. Wonder of wonders, I had no idea that flies had feet like that. Truthfully, I haven’t spent a lot of time thinking about fly feet, but this was a surprise.

Anyway, I share it simply because it’s interesting.

It’s holding on to the leaf by its legs! Now you need another photo of a fly on a flat surface like a wall, window or ceiling.

Interesting. I guess the cartoon caricatures of a fly aren’t that far off. They are wearing shoes.
